"A Short Note on Burmese dictators"

 Written by Robert Sanga

Date: 04.03.2021

On February 01, 2021 a 64 years old Burmese commander-in-chief Min Aung Hliang along with his associates had chosen to follow footstep of previous dictators Ne Win (1911-2002) & Than Swe (88 years old) in Burma (Myanmar). None of these dictators had ever been interested in protecting & defending their own fellow citizens. They all are rather responsible for over six decades of brutal civil wars, which in fact, is one of the longest civil wars ever recorded on earth.

Ne Win had ordered Burmese arm forces to murder thousands of peaceful demonstrators on the streets in August, 1988. He was ultimately thrown out of his position to be replaced by another brutal dictator Than Swe. Even though general election was held in May, 1990 after military coup way back in 1962, none of people representatives including my grandfather Pu Do Thawnga has a chance to represents his constituency, Kalaymyo. Instead, elected people representatives were arrested along with Nobel Peace Prize Laurates Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Than Swe & his associates arm forces kept on committing unspeakable crimes toward civilians, in addition to torturing & killing Buddhist monks during Saffron revolution in August-October 2007. They even denied access to international emergency assistants for the victims of Nargis cyclone, which had taken more than one hundred thousand Burmese lives in May, 2008.

Another dictator, Thein Sein, has paved the way for 75% civilian government in 2010. The people of Burma could finally have a chance to elect their representatives once again. Even though, Burmese army automatically hold 25% of parliamentary seats without being elected by the civilians, the common people of Burma have a taste of partial democracy between 2010 & 2020. Democratically elected member of parliaments, including my aunty Daw Aye Aye Mu (Ebenezer Siami) from Kalaymyo constituency, were able to represent their own constituencies during those period of times. So much of progress had been done in such a short time.

However, even before democratically elected people representatives had a chance to serve another term; Min Aung Hliang had once again forcefully taken military coup on February 01, 2021. He has no regards to the voices of over 53 million Burmese, but rather chosen to start Burmese dictatorial rule, an old cycle of terrorising innocent people, all over again. Since then several hundred demonstrations were held by millions of Burmese across the country, which were followed up by Burmese descendants around the world.

Min Aung Hliang & his associates ordered to murder peaceful demonstrators on the streets as they knew neither ASEAN nor UN could take a proper action toward them. Economics sanctions from Western countries do not work for Burma like those of African countries. It's because Chinese communist has blocked & will be blocking every single piece of UN Security Council Resolution on Burma. In return, communist China has economically, greatly benefited from Burmese dictators. Burmese tyranny keep on slaughtering their own fellow citizens because they could not bear even a simple protest for restoration of democracy.

None of Burmese army chiefs (also known as terrorists, indeed even worst than terrorists) had never been successful in military coup in the past, and will never be successful in the future either. Min Aung Hliang & his associates Burmese terrorist arm forces may able to murder ten, hundred, thousand, or even tens of thousands of Burmese, but they will never be able to take money, power, gold, diamonds, or even a single penny to their own grave by themselves to their next life. More prayer is needed to soften evil-hearted Burmese dictators causing poverty, hungers, miseries, refugees, & all sorts of sickness, even more death to innocent people of Burma. It's important to note that all dictators around the world, including Ne Win lived a lonely life, and die miserably all alone as a consequent of their own action. After all, everyone will have to leave this earth empty handed, one day!
