A brief introduction
- The internet is one of the most useful things in this very increasingly modern world. It is designs to create a better communication between people. It contains not only information but also science, literature, book, entertainment, news, video and so on which enrich the diversity of the world. It can be very helpful if use wisely, but it can also be very destructive and dangerous too. So, it’s up to the users, especially the young people to get the most benefit out of it.
- There always have been two sides for the same coin. That means everything had merit and demerit cases. No one can determine what types of things should be uploaded on the internet. So, it’s natural that good people will be uploading things for the benefit of other, while bad people will be uploading things for their own benefit. They may or may not care if those things are not only bad for other but actually dangerous too.
Description of dangers on the Internet
- There are many criminals whose main intention is to cheat people through net. They give some misleading information and try to extort money from the users. The internet makes it possible for them to mask their motives. That’s because it’s easy to create fake company website and sale products to customer. Once they had received the money, they would not care to send the products to the buyers.
They make sure that their customer from one corner of the world would not be traveling to another corner of the world, just to claim the products they had brought through the website. In this way, those criminal on the internet can easily earn a lot of money without having been arrested by the police.
- The internet gambling is very addictive and dangerous too. People take it for fun for the first time, then becomes addicted to it. I know there are a lot of people who have great difficulties to give up their gambling habit. They never mind of losing money in return for a mere hope of gaining a jack pot. That can make life miserable if one had to continuously lose the game. It’s dangerous especially for the youth who are inspire to earn a big sum in a short period of time.
A few lucky people may do be successful, but that success had no guarantee in gambling. The numbers of loser are much more than those of the winner. It’s very easy to cross the limit in such gambling and lose everything for which the youth had to be fully aware of it.
- It’s important to note that certain websites are created to transmit viruses to other computer. Those viruses can destroy the whole hard disk system and can be very dangerous too. So, it’s to the benefit of the users to install the latest antivirus program which can even protect computer from spying on the internet.
Good advices for young people
- I am of the opinion that it’s not possible to control criminal on the net. It’s not an easy task for the police in Norway to control someone from Thailand for cheating Norwegian customers. So, it’s very important for the people in general to have a basic knowledge of the internet. They should consider to thoroughly checking about the credibility of a company if they are to buy a product from website.
- The young people should not expose themselves to the danger of internet gambling. It may seem a smart way to make quick money out of the internet for those who had just begun to hold credit or visa card. But they should not get involved in any things that can make them lose or win money in such manner.
- Excessive use of internet had never been good for anyone. There is a limit to everything. Things can turn complicated if one had crossed the limit. Social networking site like facebook, twister, youtube, Hi5, etc are good if one know how to use them wisely. Having addicted to any of those social networking site can be very problematic. It can disturb study and also give bad affects to the body. It’s not healthy to sit the whole day in front of computer, just to chat with multiple friends on the net.
- The youth had to be fully aware of the danger of pornography and any explicit contains on the internet. The same should be applied to the people in general. It’s because it can be very difficult to overcome addiction from those things which are very destructive. Parent should often inform about it to their children. Everyone in the family should seriously consider staying away from it.
My conclusion
- I am one of those people who witness how the modern technology transforms the past way of living standard. I am of the opinion that the internet had made a far more development then expected in the past few years. As things get progress quickly, science fictions of the past can easily become a reality today.
The internet can be use to buy all different kinds of tickets, pay bills, play games, advertise and sale products, get entertains, watch movies and latest news, read books, share sadness and joyfulness of life with friends and relatives, etc in a very productive manner.
It is the internet that had shrinks the whole world which makes things accessible from almost any corner of the globe. There are always people who like to misuse things which are meant to provide help to other. So, it’s better to check the credibility of the sources, websites and people on the net.
Therefore, I believe that it’s important for everyone, especially for the youth to have certain knowledge of the dangers of being exposed too much to the internet.
